Praise God for your decision to make Jesus the Lord of your life!
We want to share a couple scriptures with you concerning what we are getting ready to do. Many have heard John 3:16,
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal
life.
John 3:16 (NASB95)
Praise God, He loved us enough to send His Son to die so that we would have the opportunity to live with Him forever! But we want you to look at the next verse,
17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world,
but that the world might be saved through Him.
John 3:17 (NASB95)
We want to make sure you understand that Jesus didn't come to show you everything you were doing wrong, He came to give us the power to live right. We are going to lead you in a prayer, these are not magical words, we are going to do what the Word says in Romans 10:9-10.
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in
your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10
for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness,
and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
Romans 10:9-10 (NASB95)
Say this prayer,
"Jesus, I come to you today and confess that I am a sinner. I ask you to forgive me of my sin. I know that you died for me and rose from the dead to give me eternal life with you. Today, I ask you to come into my life. I give you my life. I thank you that today, I am born again. In Jesus Name. Amen."
Now, what just happened? You are born again, your sins are gone. The last scripture we want to leave you with is 2 Corinthians 5:17.
17 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old
things passed away; behold, new things have come.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NASB95)
Praise God that in Christ, you start fresh. It is vital that you get into church. Make sure you are around people that are serving God. You are now part of the Body of Christ and we need each other.
